How to care for and clean your 316L stainless steel jewelry
Although 316L stainless steel is renowned for its high resistance to water, perspiration, and daily wear, a little periodic maintenance can help maintain its shine and eliminate micro-deposits (sunscreen, sebum, dust).
Here are our simple tips to keep your Ma Perle Azur jewelry as sparkling as the first day.
1. Daily express cleaning (2 minutes)
To remove fingerprints or dust after wearing your jewelry:
-
Take a chamois cloth or a soft microfiber cloth (like the one used for glasses).
-
Gently rub the surface of the jewelry with small circular motions.
-
Immediate results: the natural shine of the steel or gilding reappears without risk of scratching.
2. Deep cleaning (once a month)
If your rings or bracelets have accumulated moisturizer or perfume residue:
-
Fill a bowl with lukewarm water mixed with a few drops of mild soap (such as Marseille soap or neutral dish soap).
-
Let your jewelry soak for 5 minutes.
-
Using a toothbrush with very soft bristles, gently clean the crevices and clasps.
-
Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
-
Key step: Carefully dry each piece with a clean towel to avoid limescale marks.
3. Mistakes to avoid to protect the gilding
Even if 316L steel does not rust, preserve the finish of your pieces with these few habits:
-
Avoid abrasive products: No bleach, acid, or aggressive household cleaning products.
-
Rinse after swimming: If you swim in the sea or a pool, a quick rinse with fresh water will remove salt and chlorine.
-
Store them separately: Use individual pouches to prevent your jewelry from bumping and scratching in your jewelry box.
